Police arrested a man earlier this month after he allegedly pointed a knife at four victims and threatened to cut one of them at house in Peoria.

Eric Hedrick, 34, of Peoria was arrested for the incident on Jan. 1.

The crime occurred at about 8:35 p.m. in a home near the 6700 block of W. Bloomfield Road. A Peoria Police spokesperson said the residence is some type of group home or assisted living facility.

According to a police report, Hedrick obtained a 7-inch kitchen knife within the house and pointed it at three victims. He told them to return to their rooms or he would stab them.

Afterwards, Hedrick, still holding the knife, approached a male victim. He attempted to flee the room but Hedrick grabbed his shirt and knocked him to the floor. Hedrick held the man down by grabbing his hair. Those involved heard Hedrick saying “I am going to cut you” while jabbing the knife towards the victim’s head.

Staff members restrained Hedrick and confiscated the knife.

However, as the male victim was removed from the room, Hedrick followed him to the backyard and threw a glass of water at the man, hitting him in the head.

After the man separated from Hedrick, officers arrived on-scene and attempted to place Hedrick into custody. He failed to comply with orders and physically resisted by grabbing the handcuff of the arresting officer and pulling away as she attempted to detain Hedrick.

He continued to resist by pulling his arm away and trying to shove his arm underneath his body.

Police finally arrested and booked Hedrick into the 4th Avenue Jail on a $5,000 bond.

He faces four counts of threatening to intimidate, one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/dangerous instrument, one count of aggravated assault-victim bound/restrained, and one count of assault-touched to injure.

MCSO released him on a secured appearance bond of $5,000.

With a secured appearance bond, Hedrick promises that he will appear in court for future proceedings related to his crimes.
