Jose Torres (Peoria PD)

Police located a man who went missing Thursday in Peoria.

Peoria police reported he was found with family members Friday evening.

Jose Torres, 58, was last seen at his residence in the area of 87th Avenue and Cactus Road on March 16 at 2:30 p.m.

He is a Hispanic, 5 feet 4 inches, 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing jeans, a blue and green short-sleeved button-up shirt and dress shoes. He walks with a limp and has trouble speaking due to a prior stroke.

Mr. Torres left on foot and has not returned home. He suffers from several medical conditions and is unable to care for himself, according to police. He would be disoriented and would have a difficult time finding his way around. Mr. Torres takes several medications and did not take them with him. He does not frequent any locations. Officers have not located him in the area.

Mr. Torres does not have any other clothing on him or a cell phone.

A local hospital had notified the Peoria Police Department that Mr. Torres was at one of their facilities and in good health, Officer Brandon Sheffert stated in an email Friday, March 17 at 10:50 a.m.

Mr. Torres' family and police went to the hospital; and while a man named Jose Torres was there, he was not the same man that was missing.

Contact the Peoria Police Department’s non-emergency number at 623-773-8311 for any information on Mr. Torres’ whereabouts.
