Rudy Sanchez Jr., 20, was arrested by Peoria Police detectives and members of the SWAT Team on Oct. 15. He remains in custody on a $250,000 bond.
Using technology and investigative resources, Peoria Police Detectives identified the suspect vehicle and developed a lead on the driver involved, according to a news release.
The victim was injured with a broken femur, police said.
Sanchez was arrested without incident, interviewed, and booked into the Maricopa County Jail on multiple felony charges. During his interview, Sanchez stated he believed the victim had cut him off in traffic and shot her because he felt “disrespected.”
"Road rage can escalate in seconds. If confronted with aggressive driving or verbal harassment, do not engage. Remain in your vehicle, avoid confrontation, and contact police if you feel threatened. No moment of anger is worth a life," the release said.
Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Peoria Police Department.
