The man has been identified as Dylan Bartlett.

Peoria Police and Peoria Fire-Medical responded to an injury collision near Terramar Boulevard and 73rd Drive at about 4:30 p.m. The accident involved the skateboarder and a 2019 white Dodge Ram truck.

Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the truck was traveling westbound on Terramar Boulevard, that Bartlett did not stop while crossing through the intersection, and was struck by the Dodge truck.

Bartlett sustained significant injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police said the driver of the truck was not injured and remained on scene throughout the investigation. The area was closed for several hours during the investigation but was reopened for normal traffic about five hours later.
