Peoria police arrested a man Monday after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in the presence of their 7-month-old son, according to a report.
On March 13, at about 12:30 p.m., a man committed aggravated assault and criminal damage at his home in the 20700 block of North Lake Pleasant Road.
According to police, a man identified as John Bayley and his live-in girlfriend were in a dispute. Bayley allegedly choked his girlfriend and threw a 12-inch hunting knife which stuck into a wall about a foot from her head.
He then kicked in her bedroom door when she locked herself inside.
Police said the entire incident unfolded in front of the couple’s 7-month old son.
Bayley was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office 4th Avenue Jail.
