The Peoria Main Library has made it more than 25 years without major maintenance to the walls, windows and roof, and now officials say it will get much needed renovations, as well as updates to make it ADA compliant.
The City Council approved a contract amendment for an amount not to exceed $2.4 million for Phoenix-based Willmeng Construction for the improvements.
Architectural Services Manager Ed Striffler said the library is in need of a refreshed feel end-to-end, and in need of improvements, including the arrival experience, as well as areas of customer engagement.
