Peoria joins program to help homeless

Hand in Hand program links homeless to resources tailored to meet their needs

Peoria is joining a Maricopa County program that will help the homeless within the city’s boundaries.

City Council recently approved an agreement to be part of the Hand in Hand program, a collaborative effort serving individuals facing homelessness across specific communities, including unincorporated areas within the county.

Teams from Hand in Hand evaluate service requests and link individuals to comprehensive resources tailored to meet their specific needs. This may encompass temporary and permanent housing solutions, shelter arrangements, employment assistance, mental and physical health services, substance use treatment, food provisions, and other benefits.
