Peoria Police helicopter arrival imminent

City planning ribbon cutting Aug. 20

While the Peoria City Council's approved purchase of a new helicopter for public safety has not yet hit ground in Arizona, its arrival is not far off.

Bell Textron announced Aug. 1 the signed purchase agreement of a five-seat, dual-engine Bell 505 to the city of Peoria, signaling its delivery is imminent.

The helicopter will support fire and law enforcement missions and the Peoria Police and Fire-Medical department’s joint aviation unit will be housed in a hangar at the Glendale Airport, 6575 N. Glen Harbor Blvd.
