For the past two years, Peoria’s budget team has been coming before city council with warnings and cautions about uncertainty in the economy, largely because economic indicators told them a recession loomed.
But budget officials at a recent public meeting said indicators show a recession is no longer eminent, which will dictate the city’s annual budget, required to be approved this summer.
The budget will include council goals for economic development as well as water and public safety improvements.
