Peoria Council approves water exchange agreement with Cave Creek

Cave Creek Town Council will consider agreement June 23

Peoria City Council approved an agreement with the town of Cave Creek to strengthen regional water resiliency, according to a news release.

City officials say the agreemet will address ongoing Colorado River shortages and Central Arizona Project reductions.

The mutually beneficial agreement provides Cave Creek with an immediate short-term water supply while ensuring Peoria has access to recovered water resources that don’t negatively impact Peoria’s groundwater supplies, officials say.
