Peoria Council approves long awaited mixed-use project, but not without opposition

A long-awaited multi-use project in North Peoria has been approved, but not without opposition from nearby neighbors.

The project, known as The Trailhead, is planned to bring commercial, multifamily residential and a religious facility to the northeast corner of 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

Well over 100 residents packed into city council chambers April 19 for a public meeting to voice their opinions about the project.
