Peoria council approves budget, water rate increases

Dunn dissents, cites district inequity

Peoria City Council approved the fiscal year 2022 final budget at $695 million, a 4.5% increase from the fiscal year 2021 budget.

Council also approved fiscal years 2022 and 2023 water and wastewater rates, as well as solid waste rate increases.

City officials say the budget maintains core citizen services with small, but necessary, adjustments to utility rates and without any increases to taxes.
