Peoria City Council to consider $8.5M to fund drainage, road improvements

The Peoria City council will consider Oct. 26 approving $8.5 million to improve drainage and traffic flow along the 67th Avenue corridor between Pinnacle Peak and Happy Valley roads.

Because elements of the project have impacts and causes extending beyond city borders, funding for the project includes various sources from both the city and external entities and requires an intergovernemental agreemnt with the state of Arizona.

When complete, the project should improve the area drainage master plan, road widening, traffic signal improvements, additional through and turn lanes, and other enhancements to the thoroughfare that will benefit area residents and businesses.
