Peoria city attorney steps down

Hickman is one of five top city officials who have stepped down since election

City Attorney Vanessa Hickman stepped down from her post Jan. 4.

Her letter of resignation states it has been an incredible time to work with the mayor and council, the city manager and deputies as well as the city departments to advance city priorities, address novel legal issues and navigate through a period of national, state, and local emergencies.

But she made no mention of why she resigned.
