Peoria Arts and Cultural Festival comes to Old Town April 7
Posted
Students will exhibit their artwork and perform dance routines, theater acts, choir performances and band concerts at the Peoria Arts & Cultural Festival. This festival is presented by Valley schools and will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in Old Town Peoria, near 83rd and Grand Avenues.
Each year the city of Peoria and Peoria Unified School District partners on this event to showcase student artistic talents and raise money for the Peoria Education Foundation. Along with a variety of arts, guests can watch demonstrations, enjoy the Kid Zone, order from food trucks, create make-and-take crafts, and shop from craft vendors. A coin truck, hosted by MidFirst Bank, will be positioned at Osuna Park to collect spare change from community members as an added component to the foundation’s fundraiser for this event.
Attendees can also enjoy the Instrument Petting Zoo, sponsored by the Musical Instrument Museum. The event is free to the public. Some of the activities may require the purchase of a wristband for a small fee to participate.
In addition, the Peoria Police Department will announce the winners of the Anti-Bullying Art Contest at 10 a.m. in Osuna Park. The theme of this year’s contest was “All Different, All Equal.” Peoria Unified School District students in third through 12th grades were challenged to create a visual image or photo to depict the theme.
