Peoria airport feasibility study dissected

Report states demand for a new airpark is high

A study commissioned by Peoria has found there is demand for a new airpark within the city. However, much still needs to be learned as to whether one will come to fruition in north Peoria.

Eric Pfeifer, principal at Coffman Associates Airport Consultants, who conducted the study, said there is “very, very strong demand” for an airport in Peoria, and is worthy of further study.

“That is really where the feasibility study leads off,” he said. “And the whole purpose of the next steps is to look at, OK, where is that airport going to best fit into the community and what are the environmental impacts of that?”
