Peoria adjusts paramedicine agreement

Peoria adjusted its agreement with Surprise and Goodyear regarding a grant-funded community paramedicine program through United HealthCare.

Paramedicine attempts to fill gaps in local health care services and reduce hospital visits, particularly unecessary emergency department visits.

The amended agreement will delineate the change in the Peoria Fire Department’s involvement in a previously awarded $175,000 grant from United HealthCare for a regional community paramedicine program. This agreement specifies Peoria’s involvement as an administrator in support of the cities of Surprise and Goodyear.
