SUN CITY WEST - Penay L. Edwards age 94 passed away March 21st. 2016 at the Banner Hospice Grandview Terrace, Sun City West, Az. Penay died from complications due to a fall in her home.(13603 W. Echo Mesa Drive) She was active to the last day, always trying to get healthier, sewed, baked bread, cooked, doing what she loved. Penay was born Jan. 30th. 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was married to Ollie Tilden Edwards, the love of her life 6 May 1972 in Riverside Co., Ca where he died 25 October 1988. His nickname was Hunzy, 100 times sweeter than honey. Penay had no children, Preceding her in death were her parents, George & Emma (Lavine)Abel, siblings were Wm. Frank (Edna & Olinda) Abel, Calverna (Clarence Eutin , Marcella Jennine () Neiman, Alfred August (Lou Etta & ? Abel, and Helen Abel, Penay had a deep love for the Lord, her savior. Penay was a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latterday Saints. She did not want a funeral. She was always ready to serve, she served two missions with her husband and many temple missions after he passed. Penay was an avid golfer, 5-6 days a week before she had cancer on her leg only a few years ago. She had taken many classes in her lifetime, was able to make or sew anything. Penay had a swim suit business in Hollywood Ca. in her earlier day, made swim suits for many celebrities. She also owned and operated a motel in Desert Hot Spring, Ca. She knew what she wanted. Penay was well known for making cookies for everyone in Sun City West. We will all miss her.
