Lowell “Butch” Bowman passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at Banner Boswell Hospital in Sun City, Arizona. Service is scheduled for Saturday, April 15, 2023, 10; 00 at Congregational Church of Sun City, 18401 N 99th Ave, Sun City AZ 85373. Lowell “Butch” Bowman was born July 1, 1938, in Maquoketa, Iowa and was the son of Edelman T & Zelda (Rorah) Bowman. Lowell was united in marriage to Beverly Gast on April 2, 1961, in DeWitt Iowa, where they resided until 1973. Lowell and Beverly owned Town Coffee Shop in DeWitt, Iowa until they moved. After 1973 they moved to Marshalltown, Iowa where he operated the Thunderbird Restaurant until 1985 when they moved to Sun City, Arizona where he owned and managed Bell Travel with Penney Edwards until his retirement. Butch was known for his amazing sense of humor, he was always quick witted, and was the life of any party he attended. Butch enjoyed spending his time golfing and getting to know people, He always had a joke to tell. Butch was an active member in his church in Sun City where he sang in the choir since 1986. Butch was very active in the local theater troops while in Marshalltown & Sun City, where he would always put on the best performances. Butch loved to travel the world with his clients, closest friends and family. Butch is survived by his sister Mary Jo (Phil) Brooks of Alabama, daughter-in-law Diane (Kevin) Bowman, grandchildren Brandon (Jamie) Bowman, Amanda (Mitch) Allison, Austin (Shelby) Bowman, great grandchildren Lauryn and Tay along with many nieces and nephews all of Iowa. In death Butch will be reunited with his beloved wife Beverly, sons Kevin Bowman and Kreg Bowman.
