Pedestrian voice controls active

Resident-inspired project helps those without sight

Crossing the street as a pedestrian in Sun City West is as simple as pushing the walk button at the intersection.

But for those in the community who are visually disabled, finding the button is a challenge.

Sun City West resident Warren Convoy has lived in the community for nearly 10 years and after losing his sight seven years ago, getting around was difficult as specific locations he needed to get to didn’t offer traffic controls for people without sight.
