An investigation is underway after a 51-year-old man died Thursday while crossing near 3rd Street and Broadway Road, Phoenix police said.

The collision occurred about 7:10 p.m. Nov. 21. Police officers found Ramon Castaneda Hernandez and attempted life-saving measures, according to a release, but he died at the scene.

Preliminary information suggests that Castaneda Hernandez was crossing Broadway Road, mid-block, when he was struck by a vehicle heading east.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor, police said, adding the collision investigation is continuing.
