Pedestrian dies after Phoenix collision

Posted

A 65-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning while crossing 32nd Street, Phoenix police said.

Elizabeth Goff died at a hospital following the collision, which occurred about 7:20 a.m. near 32nd Street and Stanford Drive.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash, police said.

Preliminary information indicates Goff was crossing 32nd Street “in, or near, the crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle involved, which was turning left at the intersection,” according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

Charging decisions will be made once an accident reconstruction process is complete, police said.
