Pedestrian, 79, dies days after north Phoenix crash

A 79-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle earlier this week near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road.

Manuel Figueroa died at a hospital March 5. He was crossing 43rd Avenue mid-block about 7:45 p.m. March 3 when he was hit by the vehicle heading south, Phoenix police said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and impairment is not suspected, police said, adding an investigation is continuing.
