An independent panel sampled 193 beers from 53 breweries and chose Pedal Haus as the 2023 Brewery of the Year.
The brewery was honored Oct. 5 at the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild celebration of the craft beer community, according to a release.
Sixty-five judges conducted a blind sampling of beers and evaluated them according to the Great American Beer Festival guidelines.
Pedal Haus received 18 total points from the three gold medals it won for its German-Style Pilsner, Beach Cruiser Mexican Lager and Desert Classic Pale Ale beers, resulting in it being named Brewery of the Year.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers for making high-quality beer,” Julian Wright, founder of Pedal Haus Brewery said.
“It’s also always a great time getting together with our industry friends in the great Arizona brewing scene.”
Pedal Haus celebrated its seventh anniversary this year having opened its first location on Mill Avenue in Tempe in 2015. It also has locations in downtown Chandler, Phoenix and at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
In addition to the recent awards, the brewery has won more than 40 medals and awards at competitions across the country, including a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2018 and Best Brewery in the United States at the 2019 Copa Cerveza de Americas, according to a release.
