Peaceful protest planned for Surprise June 8

Bell, Litchfield roads location again

Posted

Surprise resident Scotty Nixon is organizing another what he hopes is a peaceful protest at Bell and Litchfield roads Monday, June 8.

The Black Lives Matter rally is scheduled to run from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Nixon and about four dozen young protestors held signs at cars on the southeast corner of the intersection on June 3.

An advertisement for the event states, "Let's be heard once again. Let's end 400 years of oppression. Let's end inequality. Let's be the change."

Mr. Nixon is an Ottawa University Arizona student and a graduate of Shadow Ridge High School in Surprise.
