PCH50 hosted its signature event Off the Record on Nov. 2 at Earnhardt Lexus’ showroom in Phoenix, raising over $1.1 million for Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
This year’s funds raised was added to Off the Record’s cumulative total of $5 million raised for Phoenix Children’s since the event launched in 2017. PCH50 president Stevie Ortega said in a press release that they are honored to make a meaningful difference at Phoenix Children’s.
"We are incredibly grateful for our team of volunteers and sponsors for their unwavering support in raising funds for a fantastic cause,” Ortega said.
PCH50, also known as “The Fifty”, has a mission to harness the energy, enthusiasm and experience of 50 driven community leaders as the next generation of supporters of Phoenix Children’s, according to the release. The organization does this through fundraising, volunteer efforts and awareness building.
PCH50 was established by Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer for Phoenix Children’s Foundation, and Brent Gulbas, COO at National Restaurant Supply. Schnall and Gulbas initially created a list of ten men who were leaders in the community and advocates for Phoenix Children’s. This core group of men were the founding members.
Schnall said in the release that they are always exploring new ways to support Phoenix Children’s and are excited to see the annual event continue to evolve and grow in the years to come.
"Off the Record has been an incredible success, thanks to the PCH50 and all of our dedicated supporters,” Schnall said.
This year’s event raised funds for the DaVinici 5 Robot, an advanced surgical system helping to expand Phoenix Children’s urology department's capacity to perform robotic surgeries. The DaVinici 5 Robot promotes faster patient recovery with decreased morbidity and more precise suturing to improve surgical outcomes, according to the release.
Off the Record, a ticketed one-night-only party, featured live music from multi-platinum artist Chase Rice and food and beverages from Phoenix establishments. Previous headliners have included stars like Dierks Bentley, Chris Young and Tyler Hubbard, the release noted.
In addition to PCH50’s signature Off the Record event, the group participates and coordinates several other fundraising initiatives and sponsorship opportunities throughout the year including Concours in the Hills, PCH Golf Tournament and Annual PCH50 Pickleball Championships.
