Patricia Ann (Daft) Lahring, 85, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, with her eldest son at her side in Sun City, AZ after a short illness on August 30, 2017.Pat was the eldest child born to Violet and John Daft on August 21, 1932 in Flint, MI. She is survived by her two siblings, Betty (Beatrice Daft) Knight and Ernest Daft. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Conol Martin Lahring, who passed in 2008. Patricia is also survived by her 3 children, Sandra Lahring (Brown City, MI), Zachary (wife, Shawn) Lahring (Ravenna, MI), and Matthew (wife, Becky) Lahring (Rochester, MN). Pat had one granddaughter, Carli (Bryce) England, and 3 step-grand-daughters, Katie Shepherd, Lindy (Matt) Patterson, and Jenni (David) Kelly. She was also blessed with 2 great-grandsons, Connor and Brody and 8 step-great-grandchildren. Pat graduated from Holly High School and after raising her boys when they were of school age, returned to college herself and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1972 with her Bachelor of Arts degree and from Eastern Michigan University with her Master of Arts degree in 1976. In the interim, she began teaching school at Lake Fenton Community Schools and retired after 23 years. She and Conol raised their children in Holly, MI and summered in Onaway, MI at their cottage on Black Lake. Travel was a passion for Pat and they loved Arizona with its mild climate. Pat and Conol traveled back and forth between their home in Holly, MI, Sun City and their beloved cottage on Black Lake in Onaway, MI for many years before finally selling the home in Holly and moving to Sun City, AZ. They continued to travel back and forth between AZ and Onaway, MI for many more years bringing great joy as they welcomed their children and grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family to the cottage for reunions back home. Pat was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was loving, thoughtful, caring and who will be greatly missed. Patricia Lahring has been laid to rest next to her husband at the Black Lake, Cemetery in Onaway, MI.
