Patricia Alaire Mochnick

Posted

Patricia “Pat” Mochnick of Sun City died peacefully in her home Monday. She was born in Illinois on April 7, 1921, passing away just two days shy of her 100th birthday.
Pat and her first husband, Bob Vesely, married in 1941. Together they lived all over the country, from Alaska to Florida. They enjoyed RVing, fishing and traveling until Bob’s death in 1980.
Pat met her future husband, Joe Mochnick, many years earlier, as a steady realtor for the Mochnick family. They married in 1981 in Las Vegas, their future home. Pat continued to enjoy traveling, entertaining out-of-town guests, gambling and shopping, while Joe was busy making friends everywhere they went. When asked what was her favorite vacation destination, she eagerly proclaimed, “our three-month-long drive around the country!”
She was known for her kindness, her colorful wardrobe, and her independence, even driving until just a few weeks ago. She loved animals and the outdoors.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents Ruby Anne & Walter Johnson, husband Bob Vesely, husband Joe Mochnick, sister Diane Hoffman, step-son Roger Mochnick, step-daughter Saundra Weatherly, brother-in-law Rudy Mochnick, and beloved dogs Bambino and Lisabuela. She is survived by five step-grandchildren and their families, as well as many friends.
A private outdoor memorial was held in Sun City.
The family suggests contributions to Infinity Hospice and Arizona Humane Society.
