Patricia A. Sledgister, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of strength, devotion, and love for family. A woman of resilience and grace, she lived a full and meaningful life marked by service to others and deep commitment to those she loved.

Born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana. Patricia began her adult life dedicated to caring for others. As a young woman, she trained and worked as a nurse and proudly spent time serving with the Red Cross—an experience that reflected her compassion, courage, and lifelong desire to help those in need.

Throughout her life, she endured and overcame profound loss, having been preceded in death by her three husbands, Lynn N.Fisher, Robert Kauffield, and Darrel Sledgister and her beloved daughter Suzanne Yahraus. Through these hardships, she remained steadfast, independent, and deeply family-oriented. Her strength and perseverance became her defining traits.

Her life journey took her from the Midwest to the East Coast, and ultimately to the West Coast, where she made her home in Arizona. There, she embraced an active lifestyle and could often be found on the golf course—a game she loved and played well into her 80s—demonstrating her energy, competitive spirit, and joy for life.

She is survived by her loving son, Lynn J.Fisher and his wife Lisa and her two grandchildren; her Daughter, Audrey Votto and husband David and three grandchildren; and her late daughter’s husband Andrew Yarhaus and wife Teresa and four grandchildren. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous pride and joy.

Patricia, will be remembered for her resilience, her warmth, her independence, and her unwavering devotion to family. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to do so through an act of kindness or service to others—just as she did throughout her life.
