Passengers prepare for holiday travel through Sky Harbor International Airport

As people get their plans together to travel for Thanksgiving, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport officals say they are ready for the influx of travelers during the busiest time of the year.

According to its holiday travel webpage, the Federal Aviation Administration expects this Thanksgiving holiday travel period to be the busiest in 15 years, with Nov. 25 being the peak travel day with more than 52,000 flights. The FAA expects almost 360,000 flights during the Thanksgving holiday week.

“We are slightly below last year’s pace,” said Eric Everts, public information officer with Sky Harbor. “Nothing seems out of the ordinary during the busiest time of the year for us.”
