Passarelli hired as new Surprise city clerk

Longtime elections official to take over for retiring Aguilar

Surprise has found a new city clerk to replace the soon-retiring Sherry Aguilar.

The Surprise City Council May 2 unanimously appointed Kristi Passarelli, who has served in the Maricopa County Elections Department for the last 31 years.

Passarelli’s first day with the city will be Monday, June 12. Aguilar plans to retire Friday, June 30 after 33 years of service to the city, including the last 27 of those years as city clerk.
