Pass-through grant for Planned Parenthood to Ak-Chin Indian Community OK'd in 5-2 Mesa council vote

A pass-through grant of $20,000 to the Ak-Chin Indian Community for Planned Parenthood was approved 5-2 at a recent Mesa City Council meeting.

Dissenting April 20 were Council members Dorean Taylor and Rich Adams.

A pass-through grant is when state or federal funds are passed through a transitional entity, like the city of Mesa, to a smaller entity, like the Ak-Chin Indian Community, to perform a public service.
