Parties lead to street brawl, shootings in Mesa neighborhood

Three people were injured by gunshots Sunday night in Mesa after two neighborhood parties led to a street brawl involving more than 20 people, police said.

Police were called to Broadway Road and Temple Street twice Sunday – 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – for a dispute among neighbors.

Authorities brought things under control initially, but on the second visit, they found at least 20 people fighting in the street in what police described as a “chaotic” scene.
