The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board recessed its May 18 meeting before it even began after a group in attendance loudly refused to put on face masks.
The commotion was streamed live, and a large contingent parents, students and district employees were in attendance for the meeting where several end-of-the-year recognitions and celebrations were planned.
The issue appeared to be a number of people, who weren’t on camera for the livestream but could be heard, were not wearing face masks in the crowded Governing Board room at Coronado High School.
