Each year the Paradise Valley Arts Board honors an artist in the community with the opportunity to present their work in a year-long display at Town Hall where visitors and residents alike can enjoy the pieces and purchase them.
Leslie Sandbulte, Paradise Valley’s recently named Featured Artist for 2022-23, opened her exhibit on Oct. 25 with a private reception where the artist introduced her works alongside members of the town’s Arts Board.
Behind the scenes, the members of the Arts Board spend years in advance preparing for their upcoming featured artists, sourcing candidates who are town residents by word of mouth and touring those artists’ studios. Laura Paquelet-Carpinelli, chair of the board, said that Sandbulte was already in consideration around three years ago.
