Paradise Valley school custodian loses home in fire

Community raises more than $12,000 in support

A fire recently burned through the home of an employee at Paradise Valley’s Quail Run Elementary School.

Sonny Moshi, who has worked as a custodian at Quail Run for eight years, lives with his mom and four brothers. Their home caught fire Saturday, Oct. 14, while Moshi was not there. The fire department has not yet determined the cause of the fire.

Within 48 hours, the school community raised its goal of $10,000 on GoFundMe. They have since surpassed that to $12,140 from 159 donations with more still coming in, according to Principal Vicky Raymond.
