Paradise Valley resident shares love for jazz locally, beyond

Former real estate business executive pursues radio entering retirement

Driving around Paradise Valley, you may have encountered a pair of cars with license plates reading “jazz” and “jazzed.” Owned by Rich Rector and his wife, the former has turned his long-standing passion for jazz music into a radio show where he captivates listeners with an array of jazz accompanied by his commentary.

Residing in town, 69-year-old Rector, who has had an illustrious career in the real estate industry as the former owner of Realty Executives, is sharing his enthusiasm for jazz with listeners in and out of the state.

“I’m going to be 70-years-old, but I guess age is a state of mind,” Rector said. “It’s one of those things, if you have a passion, why not follow it?”
