Paradise Valley police make arrest in $42K ring theft

Paradise Valley Police arrested a women in connection with the theft of a ring worth $42,500.

The Paradise Valley Police Department has made an arrest in the 2023 theft of a ring worth more than $42,000.
On May 31, 2023, police in town received a report of a ring valued at $42,500 stolen from a residence in the 7000 block of East Vista Drive.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit took over the case and discovered the stolen ring had been sold to a pawn shop in Phoenix. Detectives recovered the ring and continued their investigation into the theft.
On Thursday, Paradise Valley police detectives arrested Briseyda Molinero Chanez, 25, during a traffic stop in Phoenix.
“She was taken into custody in connection with the theft and booked into the Maricopa County Jail pending charges for theft and trafficking in stolen property,” according to a Paradise Valley Police Department press release.
