As a parent, Tim Harrison understands just how vital an asset Phoenix Children’s Hospital is to local families. It’s been 20 years since Harrison and his wife lost their first son, Beckett.
Beck was born medically compromised; he had a brain injury at birth, leading to hypoxia, a condition that prevents proper amounts of oxygen to flow throughout the body.
In and out of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Beck was placed on numerous medications and underwent multiple surgeries and therapies in hopes of stabilizing his oxygen levels. Despite every effort, Beck never turned the corner and died at the age of 2.
