It's a scenario a young boy dreams up in his back yard while throwing the ball around "I'm the quarterback and we need to go 90 yards in two minutes to win the big game."
And dreaming is free. But with the end of their high school careers staring them in the face a group of prolific Paradise Honors seniors turned fantasy into reality.
Morenci dominated the second half of Thursday's 3A quarterfinal in Surprise, taking a 35-34 lead with 4:45 remaining. But #3 Paradise Honors got a defensive stop at its 13 and - after a false start - drove 92 yards in 1:20, capped by senior quarterback Gage Baker's 15-yard touchdown strike to senior receiver Josh Morales for the 42-35 triumph.
