Pandemic malaise stirs memories of more-caring times

OPINION — On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic. After months of delays Trump could no longer deny there was a problem or propose absurd solutions and cures.

Trump could no longer protect his casino, entertainment, resort, hotel and liquor-industry friends. 

Americans were helpless and watched over 150,000 Americans die, while other countries ordered shuttering-in and lost only a few hundred citizens.
