Learning gap at Peoria Unified results in higher summer school enrollment

Programing attendance grown ‘exponentially’ since pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic ravaged the Peoria Unified School District with decreases in enrollment and AzMERIT test scores across the board, creating a learning gap as schools maneuver back to normalcy.

One fallout of this has been a spike in summer school enrollment.

PUSD spokeswoman Erin Dunsey said Peoria Unified’s summer programming has changed significantly in the last few years.
