I’d like to introduce us. we are new additions to Sun City, my husband James (60) and myself (Marybeth 58).
We moved here in November of 2021. As a new member, it took a little bit to get to know our neighbors and for them to know us, but life is now grand!
You see, at first, our children and 10 grandchildren helped us move, so yes, we were a bit noisy and overwhelming, to say the least. Once we settled in, we found our common bond, food. You see, my husband and I love to cook.
It doesn’t matter what, from baking desserts to sautéing for gravy, we just enjoy the kitchen and feeding people. First, it was our kids’ friends who would comment, “You eat like this every night, lucky,” and now wonderful neighbors. We cook a full dinner every night— it’s how we were both were brought up.
And now we have at least one guest every night of the week, and sometimes deliver dinner to others who like to stay home. So, you see, if you give the new a chance, sometimes just sometimes you can find it’s useful. Even with the loud, obnoxious and uncomfortable beginning.
