Pair of pickleball tournaments coming to Surprise

Big-time pickleball is returning to Surprise.

The city and the Sports and Tourism Department have announced two tournaments this spring: the MS Pickleball Benefit Tournament from March 17 to 19 and the Battle of the Paddles from April 13 to 14.

For the MS Pickleball Benefit event, poceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the participation of more than 350 players.

The USA Pickleball Association-sanctioned double-elimination tournament features women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles. It’s open to players aged 13 and older.

The Battle of the Paddles event is sanctioned by the Surprise Pickleball Association and USA Pickleball Association. It’s a double-elimination tournament featuring more than 700 players competing in women’s doubles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles and senior mixed doubles.

These pickleball tournaments will take place at Surprise Pickleball Courts,14534 W. Tierra Buena Lane. Note that open pickleball court availability will not be available throughout the course of these events.
