Padres planning early Spring Training arrival in Peoria

The San Diego Padres will report to Spring Training this weekend – earlier than other teams.
Pitchers and catchers report to camp in Peoria on Sunday, Feb. 11. The early start is necessary since the team will open the regular season, against the Los Angeles Dodgers, in South Korea on March 20 and 21.
The first Padres full squad workout is Friday, Feb. 16. The team’s first Spring Training game starts at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 against the Dodgers in Peoria.
After the two-game series in South Korea, the Padres will return to the West Valley to resume Spring Training with a March 25 home game against the Seattle Mariners.
The Padres will open the regular season March 28 against the Giants in San Diego.
Their Peoria Sports Complex mates, the Mariners, will see pitchers and catchers report Wednesday, Feb. 14, with the first full squad workout on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
