Owners of Valley care centers accused of wrongdoing in suit

Operations of two East Valley assisted living centers could change after Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes made additional fraud and racketeering claims to an existing civil lawsuit against the businesses.

Officials at the businesses — Visions Mesa and Visions Apache Junction — are accused of diverting $2.9 million from the Heritage Village operating accounts to pay debts for other properties that belong to owners Gary and Tracy Langendoen, according to a press release.

The revenue came from families of the residents of the assisted living centers and was supposed to go toward care for those individuals, said Richie Taylor, a spokesman for the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
