Ovid Leroy Bond Jr., 60Ovid Leroy Bond Jr., 60, of Apache Junction, passed away March 14, 2007.Mr. Bond was born Feb. 14, 1947 to Ovid L. and Virginia Bond.He moved to Arizona in 1990 and loved the Superstition Mountains and the western life.Mr. Bond worked for Pinal County. He belonged to and was a board member of the Superstition Horsemen Association, Arizona State Horsemen Association, Arizona Trail Association, Morgan Horse Association, P&M Trail Riders and SALT. He was trustee of Apache Junction Elks Lodge No. 2349 and a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion No. 0215 for 41 years, National Rifle Association and Superstition Chapter of HOG (Harley Owners Group).He was concerned with our community and helped out with many projects. He made all the hitching posts for the city complex, plus five others for three different trail heads. He assisted with the Black Stallion Literacy program and during elections always helped deliver ballots for voters. He was a good friend to all and helped out at a drop of a dime.He was very proud of his son, daughter and grandkids.He left behind his beloved companion, family and friends, including his companion, Tina M. Kolar; father, Ovid Leroy Bond Sr.; mother, Virginia Bond; son, Robert (Nickie) Bond, daughter, Tina (Bo) Moore; four grandkids, Nick, Brady, Aspen and Ryker; sisters, Jeannie (Dennis) Parnaby; Nancy (Pil) Murphy, Rita (Denny) Lehner; uncles, aunts, nieces and lots of very close friends.He was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. April 14 at Cloud View trail head. A potluck will follow. Please bring chairs, drink and a dish to share. Go to Kings Ranch Road to Baseline, just across the cattle guard, turn right and follow trail head signs.Allen Mortuary of Mesa handled arrangements.
