Over 400 residential, commercial units to be created in Tempe

Final council decision to come May 4

Tempe could see almost 500 new residential and commercial opportunities with a new 25-story mixed-use development at East University Drive, which will go up for final council consideration on May 4.

Co-developers CA Ventures and Wexford Developments submitted a proposal for the project known as 16 East University, or 16 East, which is a mixed-use, high-rise residential community that “will continue the transformation of Tempe’s Urban Core,” by repurposing an underused urban infill site, according to a city report.

The project will create 453 units for various purposes on over half an acre of land. The developers are represented by Sender Associates.
