Sometimes it is best to wait, even if it is for a long time.
The Prasada project, with a regional indoor shopping mall at its heart, was proposed in 2005 during Surprise’s first big growth wave. This despite trends shifting toward outdoor malls like Desert Ridge Marketplace, opened in 2001 in Phoenix, and Tempe Marketplace, to open in 2007.
Now Surprise residents can forget about that indoor mall. The announcement of the 700,000-square-foot Village at Prasada project earlier this month by Simon CRE is one of few outdoor mall projects planned in the past decade in Arizona and the West Coast.
