As children across the Valley head back to school, many families are finding it harder to afford school essentials in preparation.
To better help the thousands of families in the region who will struggle getting their children ready because of financial issues, local nonprofits this year are increasingly stepping into the breach to make sure those families can get what they need.
Nationwide projections speculate $41.5 billion will be spent during the upcoming school year, as families spend on inflation-driven prices of back-to-school items.
